Converse ANZ x Minus18 Shoe Design (2021)
  • For Converse ANZ, I designed a custom pair of Converse Chuck 70’s that celebrate the fluidity and exploration of gender identity and sexuality’ in support of Minus18.

These shoes feature two custom designed patches, about the importance of allowing space for yourself to grow as a queer person, as well as holding space for others and supporting them on their own journeys of self discovery.

Being a part of the LGBTQIA+ Community is about holding space for one another, while allowing yourself to grow, shift and change in ways you feel most comfortable.

Sock Drawer Heroes: Chest Binder Fundraiser Design (2022)
  • "I feel connected to this shared experience of found comfort"

Everyone's experience of being trans and/or gender diverse is different, but we are all on the journey to become more comfortable within ourselves. There's a deeper level of connection within the trans community, and there's always room to grow as you discover more about yourself.

Sock Drawer Heroes have been a key supporting role in so many trans and gender diverse peoples' lives, providing gender affirming products, resources, and hope to positive trans futures.

I illustrated my Gender Explorer character floating through space, in search of support. They discover Sock Drawer Heroes, which ignites a spark within, and they connect with community.

SDH's iconic paper wrapped parcels tied off with string float in space, and the Gender Explorer finally has something to hold onto, and feels less alone.

ABC: 'I’m Terrified: What it’s like as a Woman in a Men’s Prison’ (2020)
  • I worked with the ABC and Background Briefing podcast, produced by Gina McKeon, to illustrate the story of Mara Ellis, a transgender woman in a men’s prison in Western Australia.

Mara Ellis was in prison for more than four months. She was placed in isolation, away from the rest of the prison population. Sometimes she was locked up for 23 hours a day. Why? Because she’s transgender. This is her story.

CONTENT WARNING: This story contains references to domestic violence, sexual assault, drug use and suicide, and features strong language. Some of the images may be confronting for trans and gender-diverse people.

ACON Health: Transhub (2020)

  • I created over 50 illustrations for the TransHub website. My work is used on a variety of pages throughout the site.

TransHub is ACON’s digital information and online resource platform for all trans and gender diverse people in NSW Australia, our loved ones, allies and health providers.

Randwick Council: The Spot Festival Art Cube Mural (2022)
  • I worked with Randwick Council and 3 other LGBTQ+ artists to create a mural for The Spot Festival in Randwick, on March 13, 2022. Each artist had their own side of the 2.5m x 2.5m Open Art Cube, and were encouraged to create something in celebration of the Mardi Gras.

My work is about acknowledging the journey I’ve been on as a trans person, and looking forward to the future. I very much carry the person I once was, with me, as I grow and evolve. There’s some subtle nods to my childhood in this piece too, and the memory of seeing one of my baby teeth in the night sky “appear” as a star. Looking back on gentle moments and little self reflections. Hoping I can carry those tender memories with me, as I grow in the future.

Headspace Australia: Visible Project (2022)
  • I had the honour of working with Headspace Australia for their Visible Project, where a mental health advocate and an artist collaborate.

Together we created an Expression, an artwork that authentically told the story of Jacob Woodford (a mental health youth advocate who works with rural young people and the trans community).

I illustrated ‘Chameleon’ - a representation of Jacob’s ‘chosen family’ and the significance of Jacob reconnecting with his childhood best friend since coming out as transgender. I used affirming items from Jacob’s life, to form an overarching narrative of his experiences. The hands supporting Jacob represent his childhood best friend (Jayden). A car window signifies a time Jacob was gendered correctly as a ‘guy’ alongside Jayden. The chameleon represents Jacob changing over time on the surface, but deep down, his friendship with Jayden remained the same. Photos of them as young kids, teenagers, and now, today. A group chat with their friends, and Jacaranda flowers from Jacob’s childhood home.

‘Chosen family’ is so important for trans young people in particular, especially if they’re not being affirmed at home. A chosen support system that can validate and show up for their trans loved ones.

You can read more about Jacob’s story, and see the illustration I created in conversation with Jacob and the magical trans team I worked with at Headspace - HERE.

LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation (2021)
Adobe: Adobe MAX Insiders Collaborative Project (2021)
  • ‘JOY INFINITY AND BEYOND’: I had the joy of collaborating on this huge project alongside a group of 5 talented creatives during the Adobe Max Insiders program, 2021! As photographers and illustrators, we came together with the theme of Create With Joy, to create a composition full of characters that reignited our love for creating. We directly interacted with each others concepts and imagery, further exploring ways of building a shared narrative.

UNSW Art &Design: Open Day Tote Bag Design (2019)
  • I designed this for UNSW Art & Design’s Open Day. This design was screen printed onto tote bags during the Open Day, at the printmaking station in the courtyard.

Each comic panel represents the 3 different studio streams: Fine Arts, Media Arts, and Design. The 4th panel represents the community aspect of UNSW A&D and the gallery spaces available to their students.
