Comfortable is an intimate comic exploring the complicated experience of being one year on testosterone while still feeling uncomfortable in my body.
Adapted from a personal journal entry, the comic reflects on body image, childhood memories of gender, socialisation and navigating the world as a trans person. It captures the vulnerability of questioning whether transition will bring the sense of comfort and belonging we hope for.
Originally created for Read To Me at Knox Street Bar, Chippendale, in 2019, and performed live as part of the event.
